TA3: Analyst A. Lagazzi on the formation of a new Italian government

Negotiations for the creation of a new government in Italy are taking quite a long time. Consultations on the possible coalitions are now beginning. What is the most likely cooperation and why?

What is the most likely coalition and why?

In the past month, the biggest political surprise was a 'disagreement' with the center-right coalition on the Speaker of the Senate candidacy: Salvini bypassed Berlusconi and agreed with the 5 Star Movement to support Forza Italia's candidate Anna Bernini. She, refusing the nomination already during that evening, state on Twitter that she is not available as a candidate without Berlusconi's support. Today therefore, it was Maria Casellati (also among the closest politicians around Berlusconi) who went to speak with the President. In any case, this seemingly standard move has clearly shown that there is definitely room for cooperation between Salvini and Di Maio, and has shifted the possibility of the coalition of the Movement and the North League closer to reality.
