The post-election situation in Poland has taken a rather unsurprising turn. Kaczyński's government is ending and Donald Tusk has been elected the new Prime Minister of Poland. Our deputy director Viktor Daněk commented on the situation for RTVS.
"The end of Kaczyński's government did not surprise me. Rather, what is surprising is that, although polls before the elections had been indicating for quite a long time that the situation might end up with Law and Justice, by the way it has grown massively, not having a coalition partner and being forced to get a huge election result in order to be able to govern on its own. It soon became clear that it would not have such a high result."
