What position are the Western Balkan countries in on their paths towards accession and what are the obstacles? How to achieve and keep the credibility of the enlargement over the course of the next years? How to find consensus among the current member states on dividing issues related to the region (e.g. Kosovo)? How has the regional cooperation in WB region progressed since the launch of the Berlin Process and why is it important for the EU integration of the region? And how can the Visegrad Group contribute to the development of region’s cooperation and EU integration?
In the first part of the event, Ms. Gentiola Madhi from the Academy for European Integration and Negotiations in Albania, will present her paper written under her Think Visegrad Fellowship in EUROPEUM focused on the Berlin Process and the V4 and the support to the regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion focusing on the current state of the enlargement to the Western Balkans and the role the Visegrad Group in support of the region’s internal cooperation and EU integration process.
