National Convention on the EU | Recommendation: Strategic Compass
On Wednesday 21 September 2022, the National Convention on the EU took place. The roundtable featured three recommendations, which were formulated by our office and project manager Alexandra Ilkova together with our researcher Danielle Piatkiewicz. The convention produced three recommendations by answering the following questions: How will the implementation of the Strategic Compass contribute to shaping the EU's defence capabilities and how can the EU Strategic Compass and the NATO Strategic Concept make the EU a stronger and more capable guarantor of security? How will the Strategic Compass address current and emerging security threats within the strategic areas of competence? What can CZ PRES achieve in the implementation of the Strategic Compass?

Národní konvent o EU | Doporučení: Strategický kompas
Ve středu 21. září 2022 se konal Národní konvent o EU. U kulatého stolu zazněla tři doporučení, která zpracovala naše manažerka kanceláře a projektů Alexandra Ilková spolu s naší výzkumnou pracovnicí Danielle Piatkiewicz. Na konventu vznikla tři doporučení na základě zodpovězení následujících otázek: Jak přispěje implementace Strategického kompasu k formování obranyschopnosti EU? Jak mohou Strategický kompas EU a Strategický koncept NATO učinit z EU silnějšího a schopnějšího garanta bezpečnosti? Jak bude Strategický kompas řešit současné a nově vznikající bezpečnostní hrozby v rámci strategických oblastí působnosti? Čeho může CZ PRES dosáhnout v rámci implementace Strategického kompasu?

Korea on Point: Neither Eastern Europe nor North Korea but the Indo-Pacific is the Future: The Prospects and Challenges for EU-Korea Relations under the Yoon Ad
Tereza Novotná, an associate research fellow at our Institute, wrote an article for Korea on Time, where she argues, that from a security perspective, the EU-South Korea partnership has been marked by three key topics: the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, North Korea, and US-China strategic competition. It would be a smart choice for Yoon’s team to continue and expand on the New Southern Policy rather than trying to come up with a new framework. In the end, it will be neither Eastern Europe nor North Korea but the Indo-Pacific which will hold the key to the future of the EU-Korea partnership.

EuropaSecura 2022: a look back at the 15th edition of the competition for high school students on European defence and security
The national EuropaSecura competition for high school students on European defence and security, organised with Czech Army and the Ministry of Defence, has successfully completed its 15th year and selected winners who will travel to Brussels. Take a look at what the competition entails and what it looks like at the national final at the military base in Brdy. The students experienced how diplomatic negotiations within the EU and NATO take place and how crisis situations are handled within the EU.

Celostátní soutěž EuropaSecura pro středoškoláky o evropské obraně a bezpečnosti, kterou organizujeme za pomoci Armády ČR a Ministerstva obrany, má úspěšně za sebou již 15. ročník a vybrané vítěze, kteří pojedou do Bruselu na začátku prosince. Podívejte se, co soutěž obnáší a jak to vypadá na celostátním finále na vojenské základně v Brdech. Studenti zažili, jak probíhají diplomatická jednání v rámci EU a NATO a jak se řeší krizové situace v rámci EU.
