National Convention on the EU | Background paper: reaction to the US Inflation Reduction Act
Kateřina Davidová and Tereza Novotná prepared a background paper for the Round Table of the National Convention on the EU on Reactions to the US Inflation Reduction Act. Three main questions are put to the Roundtable: What impact can the IRA have on Transatlantic relations and free trade in general, and how should the EU try to actively shape these relations? How can the EU ensure the competitiveness and strengthen the productivity of its industry in the future and promote the development of EU produced green technologies? How will the changes affect the Czech Republic directly and how should the Czech Republic proceed within the EU to avoid being left behind in the "green race"? Which specific climate-neutral (net-zero) industrial sectors should the Czech Republic focus on?

Národní konvent o EU | Podkladový materiál: Reakce na americký zákon o snížení inflace
Kateřina Davidová a Tereza Novotná vypracovaly podkladový materiál pro Kulatý stůl Národního konventu o EU s názvem Reakce na americký zákon o snížení inflace. Kulatému stolu jsou předloženy tři hlavní otázky: Jaké dopady může mít IRA na transatlantické vztahy a volný obchod obecně a jakým způsobem by se EU měla snažit tyto vztahy aktivně formovat? Jak může EU zajistit konkurenceschopnost a posílit produktivitu svého průmyslu do budoucna a podpořit rozvoj zelených technologií vyráběných v EU? Jak se změny dotknou přímo ČR a jak by měla ČR v rámci EU postupovat, aby nezůstala v “zeleném závodě” pozadu? Na které konkrétní klimaticky neutrální (net-zero) sektory průmyslu by se měla ČR zaměřit?

E15: Evropská unie vrací úder USA. Odhalí vlastní plány na podporu zelené ekonomiky
Evropská komise tento týden představí veřejnosti dva důležité návrhy – zákon o kritických surovinách (Critical Raw Materials Act) a zákon o klimaticky neutrálním průmyslu (Net-Zero Industry Act). Obě nařízení jsou odpovědí na americký zákon o snížení inflace (Inflation Reduction Act) z roku 2022 a jejich cílem je zvýšit konkurenceschopnost evropské ekonomiky a zabránit masovému exodu firem a technologických inovací do Spojených států, k tomuto tématu přispěla naše seniorní výzkumná pracovnice Kateřina Davidová.

Report | Monitoring of the EU's Green Policies: Perceptions and Narratives in the Czech and Slovak Information Space
The European Green Deal is the core of the current climate strategy of the European Union, which has set the goal of making Europe a carbon-neutral continent by 2050. In an effort to monitor and counter disinformation narratives about the deal, IRI's Beacon project launched an initiative called the “European Green Deal: Mapping perceptions in Central and Eastern Europe,” in which six partner organizations studied how the deal is perceived in Bulgaria, Czechia, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. Our project manager and juniour researcher, Tatiana Mindeková, analyzed narratives spread about the Green Deal and the EU’s green policies through Czech chain emails as well as through selected mainstream media and websites known for spreading disinformation.

Report | Monitoring of the EU's Green Policies: Perceptions and Narratives in the Czech and Slovak Information Space
Evropská zelená dohoda je jádrem současné klimatické strategie EU, která si stanovila za cíl učinit z Evropy do roku 2050 uhlíkově neutrální zemi. Ve snaze monitorovat a potírat dezinformační narativy o Zelené dohodě zahájil Beacon project vedený International Republican Institute iniciativu nazvanou "European Green Deal: Mapping perceptions in Central and Eastern Europe", v jejímž rámci šest partnerských organizací zkoumalo, jak je dohoda vnímána v Bulharsku, Česku, Polsku, Rumunsku a na Slovensku. Naše projektová manažerka a juniorská výzkumnice Tatiana Mindeková analyzovala narativy šířené o Zelené dohodě a zelené politice EU prostřednictvím českých řetězových e-mailů i vybraných mainstreamových médií a webových stránek známých šířením dezinformací.

iDNES: Major reform of emission allowances coming, will make fuel and coal more expensive
Against all odds, the EU is sticking to its goal of becoming climate neutral by 2050. The next step is a major reform of emission allowances, tentatively agreed by EU Council and European Parliament negotiators just before Christmas. Emissions trading (ETS) will also apply to buildings and road transport from 2027. Our Senior Researcher Kateřina Davidová commented on this issue for iDNES.

iDNES: Přichází zásadní reforma emisních povolenek, zdraží pohonné hmoty i uhlí
Navzdory všem překážkám se Evropská unie drží cíle stát se do roku 2050 klimaticky neutrální. Dalším krokem je zásadní reforma emisních povolenek, na níž se předběžně dohodli vyjednavači Rady EU a Evropského parlamentu těsně před Vánocemi. Obchodování s emisemi (ETS) se od roku 2027 bude týkat také budov a silniční dopravy. Pro iDNES se k této problematice vyjádřila naše seniorní výzkumná pracovnice Kateřina Davidová.
