RTVS | The European Parliament will once again be led by Roberta Metsola

Roberta Metsola, a member of the European People's Party, has once again been elected President of the European Parliament. She was elected at the first session of the new European Parliament, with an overwhelming majority of MEPs voting in her favor. Her election was commented on for RTVS by Filip Křenek, an analyst from the EUROPEUM Institute.

This election reflects the new balance of power in the European Parliament. From the voting results, we know that the mandate she received is quite strong, and it is very likely that the ruling coalition of the European People's Party, the Social Democrats, and the liberal faction voted for her. Metsola proved her ability to build consensus in her previous term, and in this regard, her role is crucial.
