What are the most common narratives around European issues in this country? What do we need to watch out for? At Europeum, we are launching a new project called DezInfoCzech aimed at uncovering the most common disinformation narratives around European topics.

POLICY PAPER | Shifting the gender quota debate from underrepresentation of women to overrepresentation of men within diplomacy

Ivana Uličná writes about the fact that even though some progress has been made towards gender equality in diplomacy, women remain underrepresented in ambassadorial positions worldwide. Quotas have been effective in boosting nominal representation of women but critiques focused on quotas being tokenistic and harming meritocracy place a double burden on women. However, even the current system is not meritocratic, as men benefit from a historical advantage and assumed competence, while women must justify their presence, prove their worth and disprove gender stereotypes.

For the fourth time in a row, EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy is the best think tank in the Czech Republic. EUROPEUM also maintained second place in Central and Eastern Europe and improved in the global comparison, where it climbed 32 places in the worldwide category of non-US think tanks, according to the Global Go To Think Tank Index (GGTTI) 2020 report of the Think Tanks and Civil Society Program (TTCSP) of the University of Pennsylvania.

Index of Czech Interests in the EU: The discussed European aid will be beneficial for the Czech economy

Within the project called Czech Interests in the EU, experts and researchers examine whether and how the interests of the Czech Republic are being carried through in European institutions. The result of the survey is the regularly published Index of Czech Interests. The topic of the first one is the response to the economic recession following the Special European Council.
