Do voleb do Evropského parlamentu zbývají necelé dva týdny a jedním z hlavních témat bude systém dotací. Řada expertů volá po jeho změně a vyvstávají otázky, odkud Evropská unie vezme na dotace peníze. Transformace EU směrem k zeleným technologiím by mohla omezit finanční prostředky na strukturální fondy, což by negativně ovlivnilo především chudší státy, včetně České republiky. Ekonomové také upozorňují na možné finanční problémy EU po odchodu Velké Británie, jednoho z největších přispěvatelů. Democracy and the rule of law in Slovakia are in even greater danger after last week's assassination of Prime Minister Robert Fico than before. According to the local media, there are fears that government politicians, led by Fico's interim deputy Robert Kaliňák, will try to take advantage of the current situation to introduce repressive measures against the opposition and the liberal media, which could also affect local business.
