Populistické tábory v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky využily protesty zemědělců ve svých kampaních k červnovým volbám do Evropského parlamentu. Zásadní změna oproti posledním eurovolbám v roce 2019 je patrná ve formě sdělení politiků směrem k lidem. Sociální sítě přebírají důležitost klasických platforem, jako je televize, tisk nebo rozhlas. In 2007, the European Court of Human Rights condemned the Czech Republic for discriminating against Romani pupils in their access to education. The Ministry of Education has admitted that this problem continues to this day. Not only is the Czech Republic under scrutiny by the Council of Europe, but it is also at risk of renewed infringement proceedings in the European Union, which could lead to financial sanctions. Evropský soud pro lidská práva v roce 2007 odsoudil Českou republiku za diskriminaci romských žáků v jejich přístupu ke vzdělání. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that the European Commission will recommend initiation of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. In recent months, reform efforts have been evident, the Bosnian government has reached agreements even with the separatist entity of Republika Srpska on key reforms. However, the conditions have not yet been fully met, and many other reforms, such as electoral system reform, are still pending. Researcher from EUROPEUM Institute, Jana Juzová, discussed it for Slovakian RTVS.

This year will see the expected renewal of top posts in NATO and, after the European Parliament elections, also in the European Union. These positions are traditionally filled by candidates from the wealthy countries of Western and Southern Europe, and to a lesser extent Northern Europe. The countries of Eastern and Central Europe have so far, even after years of membership, still been overlooked.
