LA LIBRE: Reputedly Eurosceptic, the Czech Republic is trimming its European suit

Our research fellow Žiga Faktor commented for the Belgian daily La Libre on the topic of Czech Euroscepticism. The positive attitude of Václav Havel (the so-called great European) towards Europe was also reflected in the incoming Czech presidency, specifically in the motto "Europe as a task". The motto is inspired by his speech in Cácy in 1996. Despite a positive attitude in the past, according to the latest data from STEM, only 33 % of Czechs have a positive view of the Czech Republic's EU membership.

Our senior research fellow Vít Havelka provided an analysis of the future progress of the Czech EU Presidency, which the Czech Republic will take over from France. The Czechs will have the opportunity to show that they are good negotiators who can bring the EU together. Martin Vokálek, executive director of the Europeum Institute for European Policy, commented for E15 on the tense situation between the European Union and the UK in the area of economy and trade. Policy Paper: Green Transformation: reconfiguration of consumption in Norway and the Czech Republic in a more sustainable direction

Our research fellow Vít Havelka together with Torval Tangeland, Petr Soukup, Nikola Hořejš, and Pål Strandbakken wrote a Policy Paper as a part of the project Green Transformation: Sustainable Consumption and European Single Market policies supported by the Norway Grants in the Czech Republic. In this paper, he compares and identifies knowledge gaps between Czech and Norwegian consumers. He gives an overview of the present situation in both countries, including possible research gaps and describes the unique national contexts and experiences.

Methodologically, the paper is divided into three separate parts, corresponding to three different levels of the program structure: political priorities, triadic priorities, and public service priorities.
