V Belgii proběhl historicky první summit o jaderné energii za účasti 40 zemí světa. Jejich zástupci se zabývali budoucností jádra nejen ve světě, ale také v Evropě. Co se projednávalo a k jakým závěrům státy v Bruselu došly, komentoval pro Český rozhlas Plus ředitel bruselské kanceláře EUROPEUM Žiga Faktor.

The current format of the Visegrad Group lacks common topics; the group fragmented into two pairs that have different opinions in many areas, particularly regarding the issue of Ukraine. However, the interests of Hungary and Slovakia are not in conflict with others, despite what their leaders claim. The conflict in the Middle East, where the Czech Republic is in the minority in its full support of Israel, was also discussed on this meeting. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of EUROPEUM Institute, commented on the situation within the V4 for TN Live.

Zájmy Maďarska a Slovenska však nejsou v rozporu s ostatními, i když to tvrdí jejich lídři. Na setkání se také mluvilo o konfliktu na Blízkém východě, kde je Česko v menšině ve své plné podpoře Izraele. Summit ministrů zahraničí a situaci ve V4 komentoval pro TN Live zástupce ředitele Institutu EUROPEUM Viktor Daněk.

ČRo Radiožurnál | Use of Russian assets under the European Peace Facility

The European Commission has proposed how to make use of frozen Russian assets in Europe after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Up to ninety percent of the assets would be used to buy weapons for Ukraine under the so-called European Peace Facility. The remaining 10% would be transferred to the EU budget and used for the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. The proposal still needs to be unanimously approved by EU foreign ministers. Martin Vokálek, Executive Director of EUROPEUM Institute, commented on what this proposal will mean for Ukraine and the European Union for Czech Radio Radiožurnál.

ČRo Radiožurnál | Využití ruských aktiv v rámci Evropského mírového nástroje

Evropská komise navrhla, jak využít zmražená ruská aktiva po zahájení invaze na Ukrajinu. Až devadesát procent by se mohlo využít k nákupu zbraní pro Ukrajinu v rámci takzvaného Evropského mírového nástroje. Zbylých deset procent by se převedlo do unijního rozpočtu a následně využilo k obnově Ukrajiny. Návrh musí ještě jednomyslně schválit ministři zahraničí členských států. Co tento návrh bude znamenat pro Ukrajinu i Evropskou unii komentoval pro Radiožurnál výkonný ředitel Institutu EUROPEUM Martin Vokálek.

The countries of the European Union have approved aid in the form of an increase of the European Peace Facility (EPF) by five billion euros. The decision to create a special fund to help Ukraine represents an important step towards strengthening support for the country against Russian aggression. Žiga Faktor, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute and head of the Brussels office, commented on the creation of the fund and its possible results for Slovakian RTVS.

Státy Evropské unie schválily pomoc ve formě navýšení Evropského mírového nástroje (EPF) o pět miliard eur. Rozhodnutí o vytvoření zvláštního fondu na pomoc Ukrajině představuje důležitý krok směrem k posílení podpory země proti ruské agresi. Pro RTVS vznik fondu a jeho možné důsledky komentoval zástupce ředitele Institutu pro evropskou politiku EUROPEUM a vedoucí bruselské kanceláře Žiga Faktor.

The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken participated in the meeting of the EU foreign ministers of the member countries in Brussels. This unusual meeting may be motivated by the stalled financial aid of the United States to Ukraine or the upcoming elections on both continents. Current leaders have limited time to continue with existing projects and are likely to try to make deals before newly elected political leaders take their chairs. Martin Vokálek, executive director of the EUROPEUM Institute, spoke about this issue on the main evening broadcast on TV Nova.

Motivací pro toto neobvyklé setkání může být váznoucí finanční pomoc Spojených států pro Ukrajinu nebo nadcházející volby na obou kontinentech. Současní lídři mají omezený čas na pokračování v dosavadních projektech a pravděpodobně se pokusí uzavřít dohody ještě před nástupem nově zvolených politických představitelů.
