RevivEU | Has the war in Ukraine changed the Czech approach to migration?

We would like to invite you to a debate focusing on the discussion about changes in the Czech approach to refugees as a result of the Russian war in Ukraine. The event will take place on April 24, 2024, at 18:00 in Brno at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, in room U41 (4th floor).

Our guests will discuss the latest developments in the field of migration and asylum at the EU level and assess whether Czech and European society have shifted their views on migration and asylum since 2015/16.

We will also focus on the difference between how politicians talk about migration and what the actual policies they advocate for in the EU look like. Finally, we will discuss the impact of the migration issue on the upcoming elections to the European Parliament.

Guests:

  • Anna Lukešová, Researcher, IMS FSV UK
  • Prof. Vít Hloušek, Vice-Dean, FSS MUNI

Moderator: Michael Rozsypal
