Our researcher Klára Votavová has written a policy paper in which she discusses the new dilemmas concerning the balance of competitiveness and decent work standards in the Czech Republic, which are emerging with advancing digitalization and automation.
"Uptake of artificial intelligence, the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence reads, will allow the Czech industry to shred its dependent position in global value chains and reorient itself towards final products and services, while also freeing workers from repetitive and hard tasks, allowing them to concentrate on more qualified, creative and better paid jobs. However, the assumption that artificial intelligence uptake is a win-win situation for both employers and employees should be contested."
