By capping gas prices, both countries have managed to achieve that - in simple terms - an extremely high gas price does not affect the price of electricity. V článku pro Reflex se Michal Hrubý, náš výzkumný pracovník a expert na energetiku, vyjádřil k tzv. iberské cestě, kterou uplatňuje Portugalsko a Španělsko v oblasti energetiky. Díky zastropování cen plynu se oběma zemím povedlo dosáhnout toho, že – zjednodušeně řečeno – extrémně vysoká cena plynu nemá vliv na cenu elektřiny. Má to ale i svá úskalí, ke kterým se právě náš expert vyjádřil.
