iRozhlas: The new government means the end of the leaning towards Orbán, but not a radical change. The EU presidency will be crucial

In an article for iRozhlas, our researcher Vít Havelka contributed an analysis of European politics in the context of the new government, the Visegrad Group and the upcoming EU presidency. In his opinion, there will be a radical change in the rhetoric and the way of negotiation on the European stage, but we cannot expect big differences in the Czech vote.

The EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy will be headed by a new director from October 1st. Zdeněk Beránek, who has worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as Deputy Ambassador in Washington, has been appointed the new Director. After seven years, he replaces Vladimír Bartovic, who has been with the Institute since 1999. Also, current Deputy Director Martin Vokálek will be in a new position as Executive Director.

In his policy paper, our research fellow Vít Havelka provides an overview of the current stage of preparations for the Czech Presidency and specifically elaborates on what topics the Czech Republic could choose as its priorities. Methodologically, the paper is divided into three separate parts, corresponding to three different levels of the program structure: political priorities, triadic priorities, and public service priorities.
