Hate Free Culture: The Czechs also advocated for a ban on cage breeding. European Citizens' Initiative allows citizens to co-shape the future of the EU.

Our communications manager Barbora Genser, ambassador for the European Citizens' Initiative, spoke to Hate Free Culture about the European Citizens' Initiative.

"Another feature is that the issue has to be EU-wide, it cannot just be a local problem. Therefore, the organisers of the initiative must include at least seven EU citizens who reside in at least seven different Member States. Seven countries is a quarter of all member states. Another condition is that a certain number of signatures must be collected in each of the participating states in order to be counted."
