National Convention on EU Affairs: Strategic autonomy of the European Union

Our institute is a guarantee of the National Convention on EU Affairs on the topic of Strategic autonomy of the European Union, which will take place online on Friday 21 May.

Tereza Novotná prepared the background document for this round table debate.

The main topics of discussion are:

  • To what extent can the EU's strategic autonomy be defined? In what areas does it manifest itself and what tools could be used?
  • What is the relationship of the EU's strategic autonomy to the US and NATO?
  • What position will the EU take if tensions between the US and China continue? Will the EU strengthen other partnerships?

The document (in Czech language) is available through the PDF button.

More information can be found on the National Convention on EU Affairs website.
