TA3: The European Medicines Agency is doing its best to mitigate the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic

The director of our institute, Vladimir Bartovic, summarized and commented on the content of the virtual European summit on the steps that the European Union should take in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The European Medicines Commission is doing its utmost to ensure that there are no delays or errors on its part in the supply and approval of new vaccines. The problem is more with manufacturers, who slow down the process due to insufficient communication. Strategies to combat the pandemic are not fundamentally changing, only efforts to organize vaccination need to be stepped up. If successful, the target of vaccinating 70% of EU citizens by the end of summer 2021 is feasible.
