On June 20, 2023, the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy organized a closed round table entitled Electric cars and jobs: how to prepare for changes in the automotive industry?. The debate was attended by experts from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Ministry of the Environment, as well as from international research organizations, institutions of the European Union, the private sector and, last but not least, representatives of trade unions operating in the automotive industry. RTVS: Ship with 750 people wrecked near Peloponnese, Greece detains its captain

June 21, 2023

At least 78 people died in the sinking of the ship off the Peloponnese peninsula and hundreds more are missing. Nine people of Egyptian nationality have been detained in Greece in connection with the sinking. They are suspected of people smuggling and face 20 years behind bars. Christian Kvorning Lassen, head of research at the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, also commented on migration within the Mediterranean for RTVS.

Discussing Ukraine in V4 mainstream media: The future vis-à-vis European integration

The project assesses the production, distribution and consumption of news on Ukraine’s future vis-a-vis European integration by the V4 mainstream media. The aim is to designate both dominant and marginalized narratives, while also analyzing their impact via focus groups. The findings will be presented to stakeholders in order to improve reporting and increase the audiences’ access to information.

REPORT | EU-Pacific Talks: Trade relations with the Indo-Pacific

Overall, the debate focused on the diversification of global trading partners and how to achieve it. Speakers also discussed the threats associated with dependence on only a few strong countries, which can then take the position of rule makers. The whole debate was linked to the possibilities of global trade with countries that are part of the Indo-Pacific region.
