Empowering Serbian CSOs involved in the decarbonization process through the V4 experience

CEENERGYNEWS | E-mobility, an opportunity for CEE: regional associations sign joint declaration

An article summarising the conference was published in the framework of the conference E-mobility: the Opportunity for Central Eastern Europe. An important milestone of the conference was the signing of a declaration by the leaders of the Czech Platform for Electromobility, the Polish Alternative Fuels Association and the Slovak Electric Vehicle Association.

National Convention on the EU | Recommendation: Strategic Compass

On Wednesday 21 September 2022, the National Convention on the EU took place. The roundtable featured three recommendations, which were formulated by our office and project manager Alexandra Ilkova together with our researcher Danielle Piatkiewicz. The convention produced three recommendations by answering the following questions: How will the implementation of the Strategic Compass contribute to shaping the EU's defence capabilities and how can the EU Strategic Compass and the NATO Strategic Concept make the EU a stronger and more capable guarantor of security? How will the Strategic Compass address current and emerging security threats within the strategic areas of competence? What can CZ PRES achieve in the implementation of the Strategic Compass?

E15: EU ministers will be discussing the energy crisis. Gas price caps are not expected

An emergency meeting of EU ministers will be held today to discuss the dramatic rise in energy prices. The gas price cap is unlikely to happen, but other proposals are expected to be approved. Our research fellow Michal Hrubý commented on the situation.

E15: European finance ministers arrive in Prague. They will discuss Ukraine and corporate taxation

On Friday, European energy ministers, finance ministers, and EU central bank chiefs will arrive in Prague. EcoFin - the two-day meeting will focus on the economic impact of the war in Ukraine, but also on reforms of the tax system. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been going on for half a year. Despite constant fighting and pressure from Russia on Ukraine, the Russian Federation has failed to conquer Kiev. On the surface, it may appear that the war has stalled, but this is merely a deliberate tactic by Ukraine not to engage in major operations, but to wear down the Russian army. Western unity may be affected by new leadership in Italy and the UK, for example. However, the Czech Republic can play an important role, as it currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Our researcher Danielle Piatkiewicz also commented on the topic.
