How has the Czech Republic changed during its membership in the EU, how has it managed to catch up economically with its western neighbours? Where has it moved and where is the next potential? And does the Czech Republic have a strategy to build on? Come and listen to renowned speakers from across Europe and join the discussion on what we have achieved in the last 20 years in the EU and where we are moving as a country. We are co-organising the conference with the Prague University of Economics and Business.

EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, in cooperation with the European Parliament office in the Czech Republic, is organising the first Youth Conference in Prague for students at Czech middle schools and universities, which will be part of the activities of the conference on the Future of Europe. The conference aims to provide young people with a platform and opportunities to be part of the Europe-wide discussions on the future of Europe.

The head of our Brussels Office Žiga Faktor has prepared a background paper on the Conclusions and Implementation of the Outcomes of the Conference on the Future of Europe. In it, he answers three questions: How to get more attention from citizens and the media for the conclusions of the Conference? How to ensure successful implementation of the outcomes of the CoFoE? Is it appropriate to use some aspects of the Conference after its conclusion?

Our research fellow Zuzana Stuchlíková has provided a commentary for EURACTIV on the EU debate on the future of Europe, in which EU citizens are participating. In the commentary, she outlines how crucial the recommendations that will reach the final stage will be and how, if at all, the European Council will implement citizens' proposals.

The latest edition of our EU Monitor series and its author Piotr Maciej Kaczyński analyzes the first nine speeches of members of the European Council in the framework debate on the Future of Europe in the European Parliament, from January to September 2018.
