On October 24, EUROPEUM’s Brussels Office under the representation of Think Visegrad Brussels and in cooperation with OSW organized an expert discussion titled “EVs, subsidies and the future of CEE Industry”. This discussion gathered 16 experts from think-tanks, academia, and experts from the European institutions. This discussion was held under the Chatham House rules.

We would like to invite you to the next debate in the EU± series, this time on the topic "Election season in Central Europe - what lies ahead for our region?". The debate will take place online on 19 June at 18:00.

The purpose of the conference is to establish familiarity of regional (CEE) actors with the EU-level CCS policy initiatives, to introduce them to funding opportunities that could be used to facilitate and accelerate the deployment of CCS projects in the region, as well as to enable and encourage communication and cooperation among interested parties. The conference will take place on 6 September at 15:00 in Brussels at the Residence Palace (155 Rue de la Loi, 1000 Brussels) and will also be streamed online.

On Monday 20 June, the National Seminar on the topic of CO2 capture and storage in geological structures (CCS) took place, which was the subject of a media report on the news website E15, where Michal Hrubý, a Research Fellow at the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, talks about the topic.

The CCS4CEE project analyses the current state of development of CCS (carbon capture and storage) technology in Central and Eastern Europe and aims primarily at renewing the debate on CCS technology and enabling its future deployment in the region.

On 21 April, EUROPEUM's Brussels office organised the webinar "V4 and larger regional platforms: Convergence or competition?" as a part of the Think Visegrad platform, which brings together 8 think-tanks from Central Europe.

In her policy paper, our research fellow Danielle Piatkiewicz provides an in-depth review of President Biden’s first 100 days in office. Piatkiewicz particularly examines Biden's new transatlantic strategy and how it affects the Central and Eastern Europe region.

On 23 March, EUROPEUM's Brussels office organised the webinar Perceptions of the EU in Central Europe amid COVID-related crisis as a part of the Think Visegrad platform, which brings together 8 think-tanks from Central Europe.

In her blog post, Rose Hartwig-Peillon discusses the aspects of democracy in CEE countries.

Together with the Austrian Society for European Politics, the Center for European Neighborhood Studies at the Central European University Budapest, the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana and GLOBSEC Policy Institute in Bratislava we jointly launched a project with the goal to examine why political and societal actors resort to an “anti-European” rhetoric. The final report from the project is now available.

Vladislava Gubalova, as part of the project Think Visegrad, published a policy brief on future of the CEE countries.

As part of the project 1918 CEE Identity, Gábor Egry has written an essay that relates to the approaching hundred year anniversary of the collapse of the Central and Eastern European empires, and author analyzes, among other things, the common historical heritage of these newly created states.
