The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will run again for this mandate. The current President's chances are quite good, but the nomination still needs to be approved by the European People's Party. Ursula von der Leyen has a great chance of becoming the next President of the European Commission again, or rather a candidate for it, it was expected for quite a long time in advance, so it is not surprising that she has now actually confirmed that she will run for this position.
