ČRo | Trump imposes tariffs on all steel and aluminium imports to the US

Trump claims that raising tariffs on people and companies buying foreign products will ultimately boost domestic manufacturing. But the tariffs would impact allies as most steel is imported into the US from Canada, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea. The European Union has been stunned by Donald Trump's decision to impose a 25 percent tariff on all steel and aluminum imports into the United States. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for ČRo Plus.

Donald Trump has transparently warned in his campaign that he will agree to some form of tariffs. European Union leaders have been debating this for the past year. While it has not been announced publicly, I think ideas of what specific retaliatory measures might look like are on the table, some even from the previous Trump presidency.
