ČRo Plus: New coalition and NATO
Our Vladimír Bartovic has commented on the future new coalition of the Czech Republic, and what impacts it could have in the approach to NATO. For example whether the statement of KSČM of not supporting NATO missions could be an indicator of the Czech Republic not being anchored in the West.
The communists are using this statement to profile themselves, because they do not have any other agenda that differs from ČSSD. The main point for communists if leaving NATO, which is not realistic.
The Czech Republic has, for a long time been a member of NATO that does not fulfill the criteria of its membership, on the other hand it has promised to reach the criteria by the year 2024. Due to a relatively fast-growing economy, the percentage in contributions has been stagnating even across a gradual increase in military spending.
