In an article by the Czech News Agency (ČTK), two of our experts - Kateřina Davidová and Jana Juzová - comment on the speech of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Davidová evaluated mainly the content of the speech concerning energy, while Juzová focused on the issue of strengthening democracy on the European continent and the EU's enlargement towards the Western Balkans.

The project called Decarbonization of the automotive industry aims to enable fast and fair decarbonization of the automotive industry in the Czech Republic by bridging the gap between policy- and decision-makers and companies. The key networking activities rely on evidence-based research outputs and follow-up activities with the respective stakeholders of the automotive industry in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the project aims to deepen the public understanding and social acceptance of the inevitable changes in the transport sector. The project is led by the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy with financial support from the European Climate Foundation.

In the article, she summarises the current development of the Green Deal for Europe with a focus on socio-economic areas. The text argues that a socially just transformation to a low-carbon economy will only be achieved when the polluter pays principle is respected and free allowances are no longer handed out to big industry.
