Macron seems to have copied Jacques Chirac's government-forming tactics in 2002 when the conservative president sought to fill the positions with the full political spectrum.
Macron wants to demonstrate the unity of France with the cabinet of intent to bury trenches. In which, of course, major transformations can take place over time, because it is far from certain that the political center policy will be successful in the longer term.
The colorful government tries from a certain point of view in a rather new political position.
