Our director Vladimír Bartovic was a guest on March 9, 2017 for Czech Radio Radiožurnál, where he commented on the European summit where the elections for the President of the European Council are held.

Tím, že se Polsko rozhodlo navrhnout vlastního kandidáta, tak přeneslo spor na úroveň celé Evropské unie – Evropská rada se tak dostane poprvé v historii do situace, ve které bude muset použít volbu jako způsob ustanovení svého předsedy, jelikož doposud pánoval konsenzus všech členských států.

Tento spor pravděpodobně nerozklíží Evropskou unii, neboť většina členských zemí Donalda Tuska podporuje. Avšak fakt, že bude přistoupeno k volbě, a Polsko pravděpodobně společně s Maďarskem Tuska nepodpoří, opět vysílá negativní signál – Unie není schopna najít kandidáta, kterého podpoří všechny členské země.
