Policy Brief: Responding to China's connectivity agenda in EU's Neighborhood: a Central European perspective

A Policy Brief on the appropriate response of Central European countries to China's expansion in the EU neighbourhood was produced during a study visit to the Brussels office of the Think Visegrad platform. The author of the paper, Jakub Jakóbowski, focuses on the possibilities of engaging Central Europe in the EU's global connectivity agenda, implemented under the Global Gateway initiative. He highlights links with the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership as an indispensable element of Central European connectivity.

Policy Brief: Reducing poverty in the Visegrad countries

As part of a study visit to the Brussels office of the Think Visegrad platform, a publication by Tamáš Boros was created, which focuses on the issue of poverty in the Visegrad countries. The document outlines the current situation in the region, as despite robust economic growth in the V4 countries, unemployment is still much higher than in Western Europe.

Policy Paper: Czech-Russian Escalation as a Case of Deeper EU-Russia Crisis: Time for a United and Credible Action

Pavel Havlíček, an analyst at the AMO Research Centre, has written a policy paper for our Brussels office on the Czech-Russian escalation as a case of a deeper crisis between the EU and Russia. In his article, he also makes recommendations for the European Union. The text was written during a research stay in Brussels, which was facilitated by our Brussels office with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

The head of our Brussels office, Žiga Faktor, wrote a report on the panel discussion that took place in a hybrid form in Brussels. During the panel, speakers discussed the latest developments in the NATO Strategic Concept and European defence autonomy debate. In addition, they focused on how Central and Eastern Europe, in particular countries of the Visegrad group, affect the process.

Policy Brief: Black Sea Synergy: Adopting a Holistic Approach to Maritime Security

As part of a study visit to the Brussels office of Think Visegrad, a publication by Michael van Ginkel was published, focusing on prosperity and security in the Black Sea region. The document provides an overview of the current situation in the region, possible threats, and ways to prevent them. The author of the paper recommends adopting a holistic approach to maritime security and describes priority areas that could benefit from increased synergies in the Black Sea region.

POLICY PAPER: Challenges of regulating innovative technologies

Michala Stupková wrote a policy paper on the use of innovative technologies, which undoubtedly brings many benefits for various entities. It describes the potential risks that go hand in hand with other technologies and how they can be regulated in the most effective ways.

Łukasz Ogrodnik's publication entitled "The Czechia's EU Policy in the Context of the Upcoming European Council Presidency" was published as part of a study stay in the Brussels office of the Think Visegrad platform. It describes priorities of the upcoming Presidency in relation to the Czech European policy, and most probable challenges.

Sara Nowacka's publication "Between Pragmatism and Principles - The EU and the Consolidation of Authoritarianism in its Southern Neighbourhood" was published as part of a study stay in the Brussels office of the Think Visegrad platform. It highlights the way in which the EU's policy towards its southern neighbourhood has changed since the Arab Spring.
