The migration pact that European Parliament passed on Wednesday continues to stir emotions. Vít Havelka, senior research fellow at the EUROPEUM Institute, spoke to TN.cz about how migration is perceived in society and how politicians communicate it to the public.

"It is obvious that migration is a term that evokes resistance in the Czech population. We don't think too much about what is really meant by that word. This has the consequence that if we are only a few months away from the European elections, it is very difficult for any politician to discuss this topic rationally in any way. That is how I see the current statements, whether from the government or the opposition."
