EURACTIV: Will the Conference on the Future of Europe become a new impetus for climate policy?

Our Associate Research Fellow Zuzana Stuchlíková commented on the Conference on the Future of Europe and its expectations for the EURACTIV server.

The conference is a unique opportunity to bring a new impetus to stagnant European policies, or to express support (or disagreement) for the current direction of the EU. While it may be more difficult to find a clear consensus among citizens on some more technical or controversial issues (such as institutional issues or the rule of law), in the case of climate policy, the Conference could take advantage of recent years to remind European leaders that citizens expect an ambitious solution.
