Radio Z: Ice Hockey Championship is an opportunity for Belarussian regime to present itself in a good light

On Monday, January 18, Martin Vokálek, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, was a guest on the broadcast of Radio Z. He commented on the current controversy surrounding the possibility of Belarus hosting the Ice Hockey Championship.

Hosting the Ice Hockey Championship is an opportunity for Lukashenko to present the Belarussian regime as a country that is capable of practicing such advanced activities. The current official sanctions are reinforced by voluntary activities of private subjects, such as the car-manufacturer Škoda Auto which decided not to sponsor the championship in case of Belarussian hosting.
