INVITATION: Jacques Rupnik: My 68: Between Paris and Prague
Jacques Rupnik is a well-known French political scientist specializing in Central and Eastern Europe. He was born in Prague, where he lived until his 15th birthday.
My home is determined by fate and later by choice. According to the French definition of nationality, where the place of birth is important, and not the origin of the parents, I am Czech and according to the Czech definition, where the mother's ethnicity is the French, it is rather French.
Events of 1968 in Czechoslovakia meant a major breakthrough in his life and had a decisive influence on his subsequent career. Jacques Rupnik and Luke Lévy, the director of the French Institute in Prague, will talk about that and more.
Debate will be in French. Simultaneous interpretation into Czech provided.
The event is also available on Facebook.
