Our Martin Michelot was interviewed for Info.cz about Orbáns systematic dismantling of democracy. Will this trend continue?

There is reason to worry, when it comes to Orbán. Institutions of the Union that criticise Orbán dont have the means to prevent his actions.

In the case of Hungary, it could be the MEP's of the European Parliament that could call for the activation of article 7 in the contract of the EU, and not the European Commission. If that became reality, it would have a completely different political significance. The commission speaks for all the member states of EU, while in the European Parliament the differences in opinions are much more pronounced. In Hungary the influence of the European socialist party, whose member is also Fidesz, is cleary visible. If this political group is going to protect Fidesz in the future, it will be difficult to make Hungary take this procedure seriously.
