Confidence in current political leaders has also been undermined by the European elections, where the opposition scored a significant victory. The opposition far-right National Rally led by Marine Le Pen no longer wants to leave the EU; they want to influence it. However, they need allies for that. Pro Francii to letos nevypadá dobře. Finální přípravy na červencové letní olympijské hry vrcholí, ale podle průzkumů méně než polovina Francouzů věří, že země dokáže zajistit jejich hladký průběh. Důvěru v současné politické představitele zpochybnily také evropské volby, kde opozice výrazně zvítězila. Opoziční krajně pravicové Národní sdružení Marine Le Penové už ale nechce odejít z EU, chce v ní rozhodovat. Ale k tomu potřebuje spojence.
