IDM: Brexit – A mess in the institutional EU Framework?

Our research fellow Danielle Piatkiewicz was a guest on the IDM Vienna podcast. The main topic of the podcast, which focuses on the Central Europe, was Brexit and the EU institutional framework.

Brexit not only fuelled the Central and Eastern European region but also brought way more division within the EU, as countries like Poland or Hungary have been criticizing the EU mandates and their sovereignty by Brussels.

Some experts have indicated that Brexit could improve positions of countries like Poland and other countries within the Visegrad Group as it could have potential leverage and bargaining power of different coalitions of countries, including the possibility of voting for or blocking decisions.
