RTVS: The victory of populists and eurosceptics

Alexandr Lagazzi commented on the results of the parliamentary elections in Italy for the Slovak Radio RTVS.

The parliamentary elections in Italy saw a victory of the center-right coalition of Silvio Berlusconi and the Lega Nord. As a single party, however, the winner is the populist Five Star Movement with more than 30% of the votes. On the contrary, the ruling Democratic Party, with Mato Renzi, managed to get less than 20%. Who will eventually form a government in Italy?

In particular, one of the most important topics was the issue of migration and general disapproval of voters of politics as such. I think that even the result shows a decline of the confidence in the European Union.
