ČTK | The new Czech Commissioner will have as much value as he can create

According to former Czech MEP Pavel Telička, the new Czech EU Commissioner Jozef Síkela will have the value he will create. What kind of cabinet he will build and who will lead it will also be important, as well as how he will handle the hearings in the European Parliament and how he will want to interfere with his comments and proposals in the portfolios of other EU Commissioners. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of EUROPEUM Institute, commented for ČTK.

He has quite a lot of credibility in Brussels as a person who was one of the key players during the energy crisis, who moves in an international environment, and who has experience in business. This is all that can make it easier for him to get started.

Before entering the NGO sphere, Viktor Daněk worked for almost ten years as a journalist. During his time with the public service Czech radio, he focused mainly on covering EU affairs. He spent almost five years as a permanent correspondent in Brussels, where he cooperated with other media outlets.
